Scope and Content
This committee was set up to organise Bedfordshire's competition for this national competition. The schedule required 'an exhibit of Country Fare from farm, garden, sea and/or kitchen to illustrate country feasts and festivals, such as the Seasons, Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Harvest Home, or a local or traditional occasion. Not less than six members to take part.' Twelve institutes from Bedfordshire competed: - Barton, Great Barford, Silsoe, Stagsden, Bletsoe, Woburn Sands, Streatley, Roxton, Eaton Socon, Clapham, Biddenham and Meppershall. The winners and runners-up (Barton and Great Barford) then went through to the regional competition in Bury St Edmunds.
