  • Scope and Content
[Likely Emma Norman, née Lovell, wife of William Norman.] Written at Tur Langton [Leicestershire]. ...I have only just heard (since the funeral) of dear Aunt’s death from Mrs. Wiggins, who said you were staying at Draughton Lodge over Sunday, so thought I would write at once to you there. Give our united love and sympathy to Lizzie, when you write, also to Jethro. No doubt you will miss Aunt very much, but from what you said in your last letter I should think you could not desire her life, for she must have been a great sufferer, and I trust now she is released from pain and sorrow, and is now enjoying everlasting happiness where trouble and sorrow are unknown. I shall be pleased to hear from you, also to see you if you can come. How are all your little ones; I hope well? Albert is come home today for a short holiday; they did not give any at Easter. We were over at Oadby [Leicestershire] yesterday; it was John’s birthday. I have had Miss Bewsher staying with me; she left on Wednesday. Excuse the paper, and I am writing in haste. With united love and sympathy, I remain, Your affectionate Cousin....
