- Scope and ContentTo be buried in the chancel of Wotton church. Manor of South and North Auston, Yorks. and all messuages and lands, manor and advowson of Sandy, and messuages, mills and lands in Sandy, and Girtford, Stamford farm, Southhall occupied by - Cayton, lately purchased of exors. of Sir John Keeling; farm in Kempston Hardwick occupied by John Curfu, descened from brother Phillip; Perteens farm and the ground where Negooses house stood, with all lands belonging in Wootton and all lands there devised by will of father Sir Humph. Monoux decd., to Sir John and Sir Robt. Cotton, wife's brothers, upon trust:- manors of S. and N. Auston, and Sandy etc., and Stanford farm to the use of cousins Edward and John Woodhouse esq. sons of uncle Sir Ph. Woodhouse decd., to raise £10,000 for the portion of daughters Alice and Fra. Monoux, and also yearly sum of £200 payable to daus.; farm in Kempston Hardwick, Purteens and other lands to the use of wife Dame Alice for life; all manors and lands (except Kempton Hardwick) to use of son Phillip; if default of issue to brother Lewis; Kempston Hardwick to Lewis. To wife Alice guardianship of children for life, then to brothers Lewis and Ph. Cotton. To wife all plate, jewels 'she brought me, and all my old gold now in her custody, my two coaches and 4 best coach horses, and any other 2 horses that she will choose', and all hay in barns, all bricks in yard and close called Mr. Bun's close and all felled timber; also use of all plate recieved since marriage,'my pearl necklace which she now wears' and all household stuff in dwelling house in Wooton for life; then pearl necklace to such child as she directs, use of plate to son Phil. To son Phil. ring with three diamonds, and pointed diamond ring 'given by my father to my wife' either to daughter Alice or son Ph. as wife directs. To poor of Wootton £20. Exors.
