Admin/biog history
Donald (Don) Allister, born 1902 in Birmingham, though his family was Scottish. Joined BSA as an apprentice in 1916. Became a draughtsman at Vauxhall Motors in 1932. In 1937, he became an ARP warden. After disbandment after the war, he joined the Civil Defence Corps. He transferred fom the Vauxhall Motors Luton plant to the Dunstable factory in 1953 as a planning engineer. He recieved the Civil Defence Long Service Medal and, in 1961, an MBE and was in the Queen's Birthday Honours List as Cheif Warden of Luton Civil Defence Corps. He was a violinist in the Vauxhall Orchestra, and was interetsed in cycling, angling and cricket. He died 12th March 1986, his funeral was on the 20th March 1986.

Belonged to Joan Allister (née Wallace), widow of Donald (Don) Allister. Went to the Joan Allisters niece and subsquently to her daughter, the depositor.
