Death cannot come To him untimely who is fit to die The less of this vain world the more of heaven The briefer life the earlier immortality. During my dear boy’s Illness he said perhaps if he died he should be far happier than if he staid in this world. At another time he said Mamma pray for me. I said what do you wish me to pray for? He said pray to God that my sins may be washed in the blood of his Son. When I spoke to him of the attractions of Heaven he said I should not be happy in heaven if Lizzie and Mary and Jethro were not there, should I Mama? At another time he said, I should like just such a doctor as Jesus. We shall soon always be together in Heaven, he said while I was holding his aching head. Yes, I replied, meet[?] I hope never more to part again.'
