The new unitary council of Central Bedfordshire, was created on the 1 April 2009. Covering the boundaries of the old Mid Bedfordshire and South Bedfordshire District Councils, it acquired the duties formerly carried out by Bedfordshire County Council in addition to the duties of the former District Councils.
System of arrangement
Some classifications carried on from those used for Bedfordshire County Council collections e.g. Lei/RW and HiO, and there is some confusion between the pre and post 2009 documentation.
