Parties: (1) Mary Burr of Dunstable, spinster; (2) Edward Burr of Dunstable, brewer; (3) William Elliott of Dunstable, straw hat manufacturer; (4) John Johnson of Dunstable, wine merchant; (5) William Senhouse Gaitskell of Stamford Street, Blackfriars Road (Surrey), gentleman; (6) Frederick Burr of Luton, brewer; (7) James Nathaniel Cartwright of Dunstable, gentleman. Reciting: -(2) sold (a) Lot 65 at auction by Mr.Simpson at Crown Inn, Dunstable on Wednesday 26 Jul 1843 as part of 72 lots; (3) being highest bidder for (a) at £295; -(1) agreed that £295 should be paid to (2). Operative Part: -(3) paid £295 to (2) and 10/- to (1); -(1), at request of (2) conveyed (a) to (3). Property: (a) close of 3a 3r 10p in Houghton Regis, in occupation of (3) abutting: Bull Field of (2) one side; close of meadow lately purchased by Edward Beal on other side; SW on land of Richard Gutteridge; NE on turnpike from Dunstable to Hockliffe; formerly part of land of 22a 1r 27p awarded to devisees of Thomas Vaux deceased on inclosure on 26 Jul 1799. Habendum: -to(3) for his life, remainder to (4) during life of (3), in trust for (3), to use of (3). (II) Will of 20 Oct 1858 of William Elliott the Elder of Dunstable, straw plait manufacturer appointing his wife Mary Elliott sole executrix and devising and bequeathing her all his real and personal estate. (III) Death of William Elliott the elder at Dunstable on 4 Apr 1866. (IV) Proof of will of William Elliott at PPR on 5 Jun 1866.
