Scope and Content
The undated mid-1870s letters are slightly problematic without further research to confirm whether Jethro’s wife, Pollie (Mary Ann, née Lowick), did indeed have one child or twins (who did not survive) in a first pregnancy (1873-4) before she died after giving birth to a second set of twins in 1875 (one of whom-- Emmeline-- survived).
