    1st. - soul to God etc.,body 'to bee decently buryed in the ch'yard of Caddington ... as niere as maybee to Mary my last Wife in hopes of a joyfull Resurrection at the last day'. To Mary 'my now Wife': -2 bequests of £5 p. a. for life to be paid quarterly at the church porch of Caddington from lands in Caddington & Leagrave (lately purchased from Richard Day & occupied by Richard Garner) respectively, to cease if she sues out her writ of dowry. - tenement wherein Sister Bray now liveth, all the household stuffe she brought with her. To his children John & Marey, his lands:- To John - (a) -- Messuage at Caddington green, Herts. I now live in (freehold) & 41 ac. freehold in mine own occupation, in Longe Close called the Spring Close, 1/2 ac. called Fales Wick, in Mill fld., Cookswells Shott, lands called Long Acre, the Little Millhills, the 2 mill hill closes, Gatthouse, Bearesbrack Close: in Stretfield on Ratts hill; land in north fld.- at Waterdells, by Shearway, called Kidbutts: Bounded by Basse Lane, Broad way, Wisegrove, the Mill path, Felden Way, way leading to Stanners hill: Neighbouring tenants;- late Sarah Emett, Wm. Whitley, Edw. May,Jonathan Bray: much of it recently bought from Jeremy Gazely, or Andrew Bray. (a) -- 2 tens. called Vine his houses bo't of Wm. Fisher. (b) -- Freehold messuage & 110 ac. in Leagrave in parishes of Luton, Toddington & Caddington (Beds.) now occ. by Rchd. Garner. (a) -- 10 ac. & 3 r. copyhold land belonging to man of Caddington:- 7 ac. in the 2 Green Closes adjng. Pullins Land N. E., 1/2 ac. in the next close called Long Spring Close, 2 r. in Millfield, Cookswells shott, on both sides of mine own free land, 1 ac. in Stret fld. below Ratts Hill betwn. 2 pieces of mine owne free land (see above). 1 1/2 ac. called Chaphill, 1 r. in Little Mancraft betw. 2 ac. of mine owne land (a) -- 2 copyhold tens. at Ealy Greene & 8 1/2 ac. called Round Mancraft w. a little lane bel. to it & lying by a lane leading to Caddington Green from Little Greene. 2 1/2 ac. called the Long Mancraft abutg. on same lane. 5 ac. more, some in Little Mancraft, some called Fales, Fullers Wick and adjoining Fales pond, Fullers Lane and the lands of Wm. Whitley, Thos. Blebis. and also all goods & chattles without doors, To Mary -- houses, orchards etc. called Patrimony w. close abuts. on Pipers (3 ac.) (freehold) & Wells peice (1/2 ac.) in Coockswells shott in Mill fld. -- freehold land in Flamstead Herts, (64 ac.)
