    Thanks Harry for plums and heather. Horace has returned to Manila on the Princess Irene. Thinks Carmen would object if she and children left behind, and Miss Bowman is quite able to teach the children for some time yet. Chas. has been back from Newcastle for some weeks. Mildred is in Cape Town at present. Mr Sampson has been made a director of de Beers Co. but refused a judgeship, preferring to be in parliament. Aubrey Sampson knighted. Mildred says Kimberley to be their permanent abode and that they will not go to Pretoria. The Wiglesworths are still at Bull Bay as far as is known.
