Letter will be conveyed by Mr Edward Powel's father's servant who was sent on visit to Cambridge about a horse. Thanks Henry for his letter, "I do not like Cambridge rows, and think you came off better than you might have been expected, as little honour could have been got by a broken head in that affair " Hopes to pay visit after Charles's return from London. Charles will probably see Sir Robert Inglis. Writer will be happy to spend evening with Mr. Graham, Mr. Dewe? and Mr. Law. Has had 25 men at work, draining, ditching and banking and is also trenching little close near How square spinney for planting,. Sent Charles 2 or 3 paintings when at Cambridge and if Henry knows where they are he is welcome to them. Had visit from Capt. Smyth and Carlisle who is a valuable acquaintance "as regards his ability to introduce to several scientific places, of which he is a member". Hopes to visit Fitz William Museum when in Cambridge.
