Has been comforting a poor family whom he came across by chance, one of whose daughter's, aged about 20, had been drowned while in one of the fits she was subject to. Thanks Charles for present he sent from children of Turvey school to children of writer's school, "The whole school were in wonderous astonishment, never having seen such things before in their lives. Some of them thought that the Turvey children must be very happy in having such pretty things to play with all day" Gives text of thank you letter children have written. Smallpox is prevalent, should writer be vaccinated.
