    Aunt left for London yesterday, still very miserable. Mrs de Lachemet now seems her favourite, she is to be pitied, having had a house of her own and now having to return to her father as he will not allow her to live alone. Aunt Aislabie's meaness mentioned, "She is always complaining of being poor but no one can think what she does with her money" Mrs and Miss Pocock came to tea on Monday, and went to ball with Eliza and mother; Eliza danced with Mr Alston, "he called with half a dozen more as riotous as himself" Writer went to concerto on Wednesday with Mrs Stack and a large Irish party. Smyth has returned but "we intend being very cool" Mrs Stafford Smith has been very ill. Writer does not think she will be able to go to Cotillion ball.
