    Sorry to hear Theresa has been ill. Writer's brother, uncle and aunt all had gout. Since change of affairs in France writer all the more anxious to leave Kent. Discusses selling some paintings and prints and getting a land surveyor and furniture surveyor to see property. Difficulty in dealing with china as has to swear that duty has been paid and some in family for more than 60 yrs., "this is a horred County you may bring anything into it - cannot take it away but on certain conditions". Does not think Capt. Hancock is at home, he went out on a convoy in autumn. Eliza seldom writes. Has had letter from Mrs Lilly who asks what tempted the Orlebars to go to Swansea. Mr Longuet talks of going to Louth but Miss Longuet might not like it.
