Scope and Content
Sends copy of Case from Mr Cowper's M.S.S., Mr Batchelor's ""General View of the Agriculture of Beds."" and Mr Cooper's M.S. respecting Turvey. Writer bought an unglazed, heavy, coarse Red earthenware vessel from Valentine of Harrold, "which he digged out of the ground at Potters Close there, where one or two other like vessels where found whole, ... one other, larger Vessel, was digged out whole full of childrens bones, and in endeavouring to get them out, the pot or Jar as it was called, was broken all to pieces. Two human skeletons were also found at Potters Close, one of them in a quite perpendicular posture with the head downward." Relation of Valentine's has two other vessels found at Potters Close, Sketch of vessel enclosed drawn with small camera obscura. It is 4 3/8 in in diameter from outward side of rim and about 3 3/8 in high.
