    Recounts happiness of sister and herself on hearing of safety of Mrs Higgins and ""the little stranger"". A daughter will be as much comfort to mother as Master Charles is to father. Is sorry they will not see John and family in town "as I am still continuing to use the Warm Sea Bath & have not been able to get out in the Carriage more than 7 or 8 times since I came here". Gives more details of health and weather. Asks for books to be recommended, is at present reading the Battle of Flaoden written by Walter Scott, ""if it is equal to his Lay of the Last Minstrel it will give general satisfaction". Refers to anxious time Gen Whiteoak must have had and even though trial is now over he will not know what is to happen until the King gives his assent. Mr and Mrs Orlebar will be more comfortable in their own house. Is Farrier coming to Brayfield ?
