Steppingley

The Steppingley part of Mr Underwood's collection contained notes, correspondence etc re. the history of Steppingley and some of its families, much of this gleaned from archives held in the County Record Office. The bulk of the collection consisted of items relating to the church, with which Mr Underwood was connected from 1959 until 1991.

When the collection was received at the Record Office items that were copies of documents held in the Record Office and notes considered of very limited use to others were removed and the remainder renumbered so as to leave no gaps in the numbering. AU48/1/1 is a copy of Mr Underwood's original catalogue showing what has and has not been removed from the collection.
