Have interviewed Roy Pope, he is ‘in a position to at once put in to the business which he proposes to carry on at the Clarence Hotel yard, the summarily convicted of £500, and further, if the business is likely to be what he expects, Mrs Pope will be willing to provide a further sum of money for carrying it on in a more extensive manner. Under this assurance we are willing to accept Mr Pope as a tenant for one year certain…’
