Rough note re A F Pope ‘arranging to put £1000 in Pope Brothers and 2 or 3 thousand more in 3 months time. Wants matters pushed on and the agreement kept to. W J Pope has said the agreement is not legal and would get out of it if he can. A F Pope speaking on behalf of the benefics says he must not be allowed to. I told him the present Exers £3000 overdraft was the first point and as soon as a/cs were cleared that the deeds were drawn’.
