Letter from E B Lindsell at Hitchin to Hooper. ‘I shall be very glad to get rid of the Spanish Bond and should like to see the Tasmanian & Portuguese follow the same fate but the latter pays nearly £6 per cent and Cotton may prefer to keep them. Let me know about this as I ought to write to the other Trustees. I should think that Pope’s house & premises must be very good security for £1500. The copies you asked for shall be sent off in a day or two. Pope was with me today and told me something about his misfortunes. It seems a hard case.’
