    - to wife Amelia £100 and all my furniture plate linen china glass wine spirits ale books pictures prints and all other household effects for own use, private dwelling house I have lately built and private part of premises now occupied by me so long as she occupies it as her usual residence and keeps it insured and in repair. - to brother James Pope of Sandy, my cousins Charles Pope of Sandy and George James Newbery of the Royal Exchange, London all freehold estate upon trust to sell and all personal estate not bequeathed to wife, to invest in Government bonds or Great Northern Railway Debentures and pay half yearly dividends to wife Amelia and annuity during her life for her own use and a further annuity for education and maintenance of children during their minorities, annuity to be reduced as children die or come of age. Trustees may pay up to one fifth of expectant share in placing child as apprentice etc. On death of wife her annuity to be shared between children.
