Sworn statement by Margaret Burks that she is not married, although ‘upwards of eight years since an Irishman called John Magennis proposed marriage to her, and in consequence the Banns for a marriage between them were called twice in Saint Michaels Church in the city of Coventry, but she and the said John Magennis quarrelled and were not married.’
