    Recites: - death of Edmund Garner of Biggleswade, labourer [later referred to as ‘gardener.’] - Indenture of bargain and sale dated 6th Sept 1830 between John Norman of Biggleswade, bricklayer and William Larkins of Biggleswade, blacksmith, executors of the will of Edmund Garner, and William Pope of Biggleswade, malster. Which in turn recites: - Admission of Edmund Garner at court baron held 7 & 8 April 1812 on surrender of Thomas Gale to ground next Crabb Lane 45 feet in length by 22 feet in width, exclusive of footpath 5 feet wide between ground and yard of Samuel Wells for the use of Edmund Garner and Thomas Gale. Bounded: East - Turnpike Road, South by Messrs Rudd, West - yard of Thomas Gale, North by aforementioned footpath and yard or garden of Samuel Wells. Which ground is therein described as part of a piece of ground of 1 rood 15 poles to which Thomas Gale was admitted on the surrender of Edward Rudd at a court held 11 & 12 April 1780. - Erection by Edmund Garner of four cottages or tenements on the land surrendered to him. - Will of Edmund Garner dated 29 March 1830 which directed executors to sell cottages on the Western side of Crabb Lane in the occupations of John Shadbolt, Joseph Taylor, William Warner and William Pear, either by public auction or private contract. Will proved 19 May 1830 For consideration of £190 John Norman and William Larkin executors of Edmund Garner’s will convey to William Pope land and cottages as before mentioned. Now at this court William Pope is granted seisin by the rod to hold the premises of the Lord of the manor according to custom.
