AGREEMENT FOR LEASE by (i) to (ii) for 4 years at £3 p.a. ... 5 lands cont. 2a. in Oak Field, Bedford, abutting on Putnoe Road near Milk Maids Bush, land now in occupation John Sugars on N, land in occupation Mrs. Willis S. (ii) may dig clay and make bricks on the said land and use the bricks. If (ii) does not need to use any part of the land for digging clay, then (i) may cultivate it, and (ii) shall pay rent only for the part he is using, i.e. 30s. for each acre. (ii) may leave the premises at any Ladyday before the expiration of the term. (ii) is to level up the ground before the end of the lease, and dung it and [...] make it as fit for tillage as it now is according to the judgement of two farmers.
