  • Title
Two letters from Methodist Minister in Alexandria, Dumbartonshire, as to a member who had left his area to live with a son in Luton. The minister, the Revd. Jn Waddy was himself in Luton fifty years earlier and had gone to Alexandria to retire fourteen years before writing the letters but was still in charge of his local church; completing 62 years and commencing his 63rd in the ministry. His liveliest recollection of Luton was of John Leach 'the coolest "beggar" and the boldest fighter I think I ever met'. He was thinking of "retiring altogether next year. I think 63 years is long enough for any of us to try the patience of our folks!".
