' I have received the umpteenth amendment this week to the Fire Prevention Orders. Can anything be done to get Sir George Gater to obtain the advice of someone who has practical experience of the administration of the various Fire Prevention Orders before any further amendments are made'.
' The position is rapidly becoming chaotic. Fire Prevention is a minute portion of the work of Local Authorities and even if the regulations made sense, they would be difficult to administer.'
' Within the last day or so new instructions have come out about shift workers. It is realised that... Luton (is) full of shift workers and the Government have without any consultation with Local Authorities, completely cut across the scheme they evolved?'

re ceiling hooks for Fire Guards 'consulted Chief Constable, who is ..... a practising fireman ... in his opinion would be quite useless.'
