- Production dateFrom: 1837 To: 1837
- Scope and ContentReads- Duke told me to give notice to Mrs. Gudgin - misconduct; prosecution? Duke cannot act in a drunken affray. Parish won't prosecute; G. says they can disprove some of Mr. Fuller's statements; they don't think he goes right way to work to make Sabbath respected or reclaim people from dissent. It is singular that although the White Hart was lately done away with in consequence of complaint, Mr. Fuller should sanction no less than 3 applications for beershops in Willington, his own tenant & 2 tenants of Duke; neither could get signatures of farmers, who were satisfied village better without them. It was expected when there was only the Dog that people would send for their beer & take it home. The Bedford Tories are sanguine; Polhill sure; contest will be Stuart & Crawley. I got a reconciliation between Higgins & Crawley on Wednesday Lord C. Russell has sent out address. Wool 1s. per lb.
