Reads- Have seen Lindsell & Green. Lindsell proposes to put house in repair; price of house & land will not be over £800; for this he wants equivalent from allotment of glebe. Says this will be boon to Green if Bp. requires him to build rectory. Bennett doubts wisdom of alienating glebe; but Lindsell anxious to get quit of house, & rector anxious to have it. My feeling is that Lindsell wants to get £150 or £200 more than the value of the house; and his getting land at the open field rate would reduce the value of the living so much that it might cause reflections on Duke in future for consenting. Wool fair yesterday busy; many parcels sold from 46s. to 50s. a tod (last year 4s. - 6s.).
