Rev. Art. Cleveland Downer Recites conveyance [P120/6/5] Money for premises came from voluntary contributions, many of contributors being relatives or personal friends of late Capt. Edw. Moore Boultbee i) to be trustees to hold prems. upon trust for purposes of a Mission House, Institute or School with the object of promoting religion according to Church of England practice and the Evangelical part of such church Building to be under control of Rector who is to have keys Buildings may be altered etc. No sale or mortgage to be granted without the consent of the Bishop. Monies raised shall be used for the purposes of the mission room or for charitable purposes (with the consent of the Bishop of Ely and the Rector) for the benefit of the parish and parishioners. When trustees number 6, 4 more shall be appointed by the Rector With schedule giving the doctrines the practice of which shall disqualify the Rector from any part in the Trust .. denial in any form of the Doctrine of the Trinity or of the Divinity of Christ etc. and of the true and proper inspiration of the Holy Scriptures as teaching faith and morals .. also excluded - the doctrine that there are seven, or more than two Sacraments, or that the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is a sacrifice for sin .. and that in the Lord's Supper the Body and Blood of Christ are objectively present... or that Ministers of the Church of England are sacrificing priests or possess judicial authority to forgive sin... or that they are authorised to hear confessions as an habitual part of religious practice... and that the temporal punishment of sins remains to be paid in purgatory .. and other such like Doctrines rejected by the Reformers of our Church in the 16th century Practices excluded .. The Eastward or Sacrificial position of the officiating minister in consecrating the elements in the Lord's Supper; lights on the Communion Table - ceremonial mixing of the water with the wine - the use of alb, Chasuble, cope tunicle or other popish vestments or any vestments other than surplice cassock, gown (academical or preaching), hood and scarf - the use of incense - celebration of the Communion with intention or for the dead - private Sacramental Confession and absolution - prayers for the dead - invocation of saints - or any other practice which shall have been comdemned by the courts lawfully appointed to try and determine causes ecclesiastical copy sigs.
