Whereas the accomodation of St. Cuthbert's is proving inadequate and certain members of the congregation who '..highly appreciate the mode in which the services are conducted ..' have resolved to procure by means of voluntary contributions the erection of a temporary church. Services in it to be 'Evangelical' now, i) conveys to ii) upon payment of £255 by iii)

Church to be built on the land to hold 400 people exclusively for C. of E. worship
Rector of St. Cuthbert shall appoint the curate
Certain restrictions on land - to keep in repair half width of Castle Road until it is taken over by the Corporation of Bedford - Building walls shall not be closer to Castle Road than 10ft., etc.
Trustees to have power to let the pews, to keep the church in repair etc. Residue to go to the Rector for the curate's salary etc. When estate is free from debt and all expenses paid then rem. of money to Rector absolutely.
Power given to rebuild church and to exchange land if necessary and to mortgage it
If Rector shall hold views on religion not in accordance with those described, or if trusts cannot be carried out, then the property of the trust shall be converted into money and to use the money for the promotion of religious instruction acc. to C. of E. principles within St. Cuthbert's parish, or pay it to the Church Pastoral Aid Society
Powers not to be exercised during the incumbrancy of the present Rector without his consent. If he does not consent shall give the Trustees a Bond of Indemnity.
Trustees to call a special meeting as soon as poss. Minutes to be kept. Purpose - to make rules, regulations or byelaws for management and business of the trust. A General Annual Meeting to be held. Rector to take the chair. Trustees must hold 'Evangelical' Views.
