While I was from home the Cople men struck because overseers discharged the surplus men & told them to find work for themselves. The ringleaders of the mob who endeavoured to prevent the well-inclined from going to work were had before Justice of the Peace; Sessions Wednesday; Pearse, curate, is trying to persuade parish authorities not to prosecute, but I think this mistaken, & have desired Cople farmers not to give way.
