    Reads- Saw Sharman & agreed to £250 for Geary's cottages & land in Cobblers 1 acre; will pull down as soon as conveyed. Loan of £100 for Ridgmont church. Duke gave £100 some years ago; Macqueen got out of it, so parish had to borrow £100 to make up; not yet able to pay back; [detailed arrangements for this.] Souldrop not so straightforward; Hawksley & churchwardens 7-8 years ago sold old bells & bought a few new; made a bad bargain; parishioners (not consulted) refused to collect rate; bell-founders & carpenter still unpaid, churchwardens Rudborne & Poole also unable to pay; if not soon settled, perhaps Hawksley will be sued for £40 [more details on this matter.] Comments on the Poor Law bill.
