Satisfied about withdrawal of leave to dig goll (?) [gault?]. We shall have to widen Castle Mill overfall next season. Told Gudgin he can't stay at Ridgmont; terms. Harvest finished; men to spare in every parish; striking proof that pop. is over-abundant; many out of work in Ridgmont, Crawley, Eversholt.
