    The upper part of the tower gave way in 1888 and destroyed parts of the nave and aisle roofs. £468 had been collected and spent on repairs by 1901 but "the work is now stopped as there are no funds left" "The Parishioners have done their utmost to help, many poor people collecting several pounds'.
