Thorpe, Lugsdin & Hine: don't think they will quit, but two former aggrieved & will continue to grumble; Hine, intelligent, will probably say no more. Labour rate might be beneficially extended to parishes paying 4s. in £; lower must require caution. Ben Twitchell dead; has left sad blot on character, having contrived to save £6,000 in Lord Ludlow's service; Understand Ld.L. thinks he has been sadly robbed.
