- Production dateFrom: 1832 To: 1832
- Scope and ContentReads- Turney & the Crawley property. The Honeydon cottage. Good attendance at our Bedford wool market Friday; 29s. per tod for fair parcels of long wool. We must not let Clark's house at Chenies go past us; beer-shops an evil to be put up with. I am sorry to see we are to have a contest in this county. Mr. Stuart making great exertions. Sir Pet. Payne has declared he will again come forward, & Crawley has letters in circulation; Tavistock's friends ought to be alert; a good deal to be done as to proper registration of new constituency; also information about polling places; I suggest we get our leading tenants in respective districts to see that their neighbours are properly registered; e.g. Platt at Lidlington, Overman at Maulden, Walker at Eaton. If wait, may be too late. Elections will not be what they have been, but will still require some attention. Won't take steps without your sanction, but the great exertions of opposite party make me anxious about Tavistock. Hope not a 2nd Whig candidate. Have written to Swansborough about Oakley. Forthcoming audit.
