- Scope and ContentReads- Left Abbey yesterday. Poor old Job Foxley, who was H----'s cowherd for some years, became very ill after Xmas; at Easter was found to have rallied a little but not equal to resuming his place of attending to the China dairy cows. Their Graces wished me to get him to his parish, Milton Bryant. I wrote to Willison, the overseer; they are quite ready to receive him, but Job requested to stay till Monday. Duke wants to allow him in addition "whatever can make the remainder of his days easy & comfortable". Would you see Willison (farmer & dairyman) & negotiate? Also can you arrange to defray expenses at Inquest at p.h. near Colney where the poor wretched carter Whitbread was taken after his deplorable death; otherwise it may give rise to a charge against us of indifference & want of feeling
