Reads- Communication from Veitch about pebbles; hope it will be in time for you to order 1 or 2 of the Leighton barges to receive them from the vessel at Chamberland's wharf; being loose, they may easily get scattered; I think about 30 tons @ 1/6 a ton plus freight. [Cf. R3/3137-8] Am not sure there are as many black & white as you wish. Poor dear Mr. Adam is now no more; truly sorry, as he has always acted the part of a sincere & kind friend to myself & family a more considered & kind-hearted man than Mr. Adam is not easily to be found. Duke & Duchess well.
