Grant. Wm. Leche of Bedford Ralph Mareys of the same. Consideration: 6 marks. A messuage with a garden in the parish of St. Peter de Merton between his own tenement and that of John Wolhed, extending from the highway to a garden formerly of Thomas Cheltynham. Ralph is to pay in installments as follows: 8s. at the Purification (2 February); 8s. at the Inv. Holy Cross (3 May); and so 8s. from feast to feast until 6 marks have been paid. Witnesses: John Spery, mayor; Hugh John and Thomas Helmesle, bailiffs; Wm. Hunte, Thomas Tappe, John Colyer, Infram Paas, John Wolhed. Seal. Endorsed: "church of St. Peter de Merton".
