  • Scope and Content
    The entries in this volume are largely of a routine nature, since the size of the book permits only the briefest entry. Regular payments include Visitation and Confirmation expences, purchase of candles and communion bread & wine etc., payments for cleaning and for winding the clock etc., and (from 1845) payment of schoolmaster's salary. Also included are brief Vestry Minutes re election of Churchwardens, Church rate, and passing accounts etc., 1845-1865. Subsequent accounts include a note on passing accounts only. Occasional expenditure includes: 1845 Laying drains in churchyard Repairs to church, and "John Herbert's bill for the West Window", £9 5s. 1848 Purchase of 500 paving bricks for the church, and unspecified repairs costing over £30 1855 "Mr. Farmer's bill according to Estimate" £33 1856 Further payment to Mr. Farmer of £43 9s. 5d.
