Cleaning of menagerie pond. Wildfowl must be much diminished - such only as are really curious and rare continued; dispose of the rest. Let (?) Herring make list; those that I keep may be in new enclosure at back of menagerie house, & pont enlarged. Probably Forbes will be glad of the mud & dirt cleared out to mix with lime for new gardens & arboretum. What about the new bookcases in corridor? Don't injure gold & silver fish.
