    Regular business includes election of parish officers, leases of parish property, rates and rating, passing accounts and (from 1856) ratification of Burial Board business Occasional business includes: - lease of house to Mr.Thorp [see P 88/6/8-9] [1846]; - salary of clarinet player not to be paid out of Church rate [1850]; - refusal to pay for work done in 1846 [1851]; - fees payable to Parish Clerk; gas stoves to be obtained for warming the church [1853]; - Church rates on glebe land [1854]; - meetings regarding closure of burial ground and establishment of Bedford Cemetery [see P 88/2/3/1] [1855]; - restoration of church and purchase of an organ [1869-1870]; - harmonium used in the church for last 17 years presented to Miss Pearse “in consideration of her having for many years discharged the office of leading the choir on the instrument” [1871]; - church insurance – division of responsibility between Rector and parish, with advice from Mr.John Day and Mr.Wing “the architect for the restoration of the church” [1872]; - death of George Catlin, Parish Clerk, and appointment of Abraham Thurley, with list of duties [1881]; - division of responsibility between Rector and parish for the chancel work and the cross on the roof and for the vestry [1887]; - rebuilding churchyard wall [1888]; - objection to County Rate [1897]
