- Scope and ContentAgreement relating to R6/63/32/4 "Whereas his Grace the Duke of Bedford has staked out a piece of the Town Land belonging to the parish of Woburn & in occupation of John Wherlock containing about Two Acres be the same more or less we whose names are under writing being Trustees of the said parish do promise and agree with the said Duke to make over the said piece of Land to him and his Heirs for ever in consideration of the said Duke paying to the said parish of Woburn the sum of five pounds per annum yearly and every year for ever and upon his setting some part of his Estate in the parish of Woburn to the yearly value of ten pounds as a security for the payment of the aforesaid five pounds per annum. We promise to execute such writing or writings a shall enable him the said Duke to enjoy possess and secure to him for ever the said piece of land to convert to his own proper use and his heirs for ever. Dated this 8th day of April 1734. NB There being a Quit Rent of seventeen shillings and seven pence on the Town land the Duke is to abate in proportion of the said Rent as the five pounds per annum bares to the whole improved rent the parish receives for their land".
