- Scope and ContentA long letter relating to Stone's charges and (apparently) incomplete work "that villain Cremer on whom Stone has depended left it in the most shameful state"; errors found by Farey in Stone's bill; difference between old and new plans and books; Stone in such want of his money, but has solemnly promised Hickman shall finish to my satisfaction; unpaid bills for expenses amount to £226.11s. without George Green's bill at the George here for Stone's and my expenses with tenants & others on business for 2 years past. Please remember what we talked of when you left the Abbey - compensation to me for extra expense; £200 not great as Stone charges; my out-of-pocket expenses, fire, candles etc., besides nearly the whole of my house occupied by clerks etc. for 2 years The other subject - Ben.'s board, lodging, clothes etc. lies heavy on me.
