    Potter's composition is no modus, for great part of the land (50 a.?) was taken from the open fields about 40 years ago, before which it was tithed in kind. Except the tithes of Brogborough Park & Beckerings Park, properties of Duke, Sir C. Farmsby Ratcliffe & Lady F. Ratcliffe, in par. of Segenhoe al. Ridgmont; and of close occupied by Tho. Hartwell wherein the capital messuage late occupied by Richard Stone sr. stood; and of Castle Hills occupied by Tho. Hartwell & meadow adjacent near said capital messuage; and of warren in Segenhoe property of Sim. Taylor late occupied by William Cripps, now James Redman; and of closes late property of Sir Pinsent Chernock called Winterowes.
