Correspondence from Farey, John, Woburn to Daniel Beaumont: Reads- William Nichols, plumber & glazier, Woburn, is owed large sum by Duke. His lead merchant R.A. Stannard of London will take no denial. I gave Nichols £121. Bursar of Eton College has written. Please pay him & James Gardner. When I get a draft, it has only of late been for sum actually wanted for labourers; Duke always averse to talk of money.
