Born at Upper Gravenhurst, but his father William Bottoms is legally settled at Shillington. Now aged 26. In 1791 he hired himself as a husbandman to Robert Butt of Clophill for a year, but continued in his service afterwards and since then has done nothing towards gaining a Settlement elsewhere
