Scope and Content
Born in Scotland in the Town of Aire, and came with his father and mother to London, and stayed there until his father died. Then he and his mother went about the countryside begging. When his mother died at Shefford Hardwick, he wandered begging from there to Barton, where he was hired to Edward Tapster for 2½ years, and afterwards by Samuel Brazier for 2 years, then to Phillip Field for a whole year, and in the second year he married Margaret Farrer.
