    Recites Trust Deed (Deed poll), 19 April 1842, under the hand and seal of Lucy Monoux of Linden, Eversholt, that the school should be under the management and control of the Rector and the owner of the Linden Estate, and of John Martin of Froxfield, Librarian to the Duke of Bedford (while resident in the parish, and no longer) The said Managers to appoint and dismiss teachers etc. The Deed contains no provision for the alienation of the School premises Whereas: the said John Martin died on 30 December 1855; the arrangement herein proposed by the Managers and assented to by the Board, and received the consent of eight of the annual subscribers to the school present on 21 November 1885; Consent of Education Department given 22 September 1886. NOW Agreed between 1) and 2) as follows: 1. School House to mean premises standing on site. 2. Board to have annual tenancy from 14 October 1885, to cover exclusive use of School House on weekdays for school purpose until 6 o'clock in the afternoon, with extension to 9.30 p.m. for three weekdays as may be agreed upon, for Educational purposes, and Saturday mornings until 12 o'clock for the purposes of cleaning. Also after 6 o'clock on any weekday when required for meetings of the Board. Managers reserve exclusive use of School House on Good Friday, Ascension Day, and Christmas Day. 3. Managers shall have right to use of School House at all times not allowed to the Board 4. Lending Library to be allowed to stand in the School room and the books and book case to be considered as belonging to the Rector in trust for the Parish. Rector or deputy to be allowed to attend once a fortnight to change books etc. 5. Board to pay nominal rent of 1s. per annum to Managers. 6. Board to pay all rates, but not property tax (if any) 7. Board to insure premises for £800 8. Board to keep premises clean and in good and tenantable repair internally and externally, and to paint every seven years, to colour all inside walls every 3 years. The first painting to be done within five years. 9. Board to pay all costs of carrying out the agreement. 10. Board to pay over any annual grant received for the period when the school was conducted by the Managers, in proportion 11. Board not to alter premises without written consent of the Managers. When school ceases to be used as a school, the Board to be paid the value of such alterations undertaken as determined by a mutually agreed surveyor 12. Agreement to be void if terms not fulfilled by the Board. Premises to be transferred to the Board from 1 January 1886. Witnesses: Alfred Garratt, butcher, Eversholt Thomas T.
