    Created as a National School in 1865, becoming a Board School in 1876, the girls were transferred to Bedford Road in 1896, Up End becoming a boys only school which became a Council School in 1903, girls being readmitted in 1928; the school became a CPJ in 1946 and a CPI in 1953 before being burned down in 1975 and replaced by Camestone Lower School The history of this school is complex.
